2008 - 2009 Fundraisers
We have a number of fundraisers planned again this year to help keep your student's fees to a minimum. Most of our fundraisers center on volunteering your time rather than selling items door to door. Please do your part to help wherever you can. Look over the fundraisers listed below and plan on giving some of your time and effort to make each and every fundraiser a success. Watch your email for upcoming events with an urgent need for volunteers.
2008 Harley-Davidson Raffle
The 2008 Harley-Davidson Raffle is underway. This year the Miamisburg Color Guard will be raffling a 105th Anniversary Edition Model FXDCI DYNA Super Glide Custom Harley Davidson motorcycle. This is a limited edition, number 1294 of only 2000 worldwide. The drawing will be held November 29th, 2008 at T. J. Chumps Restaurant in Miamisburg, Ohio. Winner need not be present to win. A maximum of 4000 tickets will be sold and all proceeds go to support our non-profit organization. Tickets may be purchased from guard members, at many event locations through the summer and fall, or by mail order. Click here to download an order form. Each guard member was given an allotment of tickets to sell. Please do your part to sell these tickets and volunteer your time to sell tickets or haul the motorcycle to the many venues we attend.

March-a-thon
Once again, this year the Miamisburg High School Fall Color Guard will be participating in their annual March-A-Thon to raise funds. These funds are used to help support the Fall Guard's expenses for the year. Students may collect pledges as a single amount or an amount per mile. The students will march approximately five miles. All donations are tax deductible up to the IRS guidelines. Checks may be made payable to the Miamisburg Color Guard. Each student is asked to collect a minimum of $35.00. All pledge forms are due Monday, July 21, 2008 and all money collected it due by Thursday, August 7, 2008.
2008 Dayton Dragons Games
This is a joint effort between Miamisburg Color Guard and Springboro's Band Boosters. During each home game of the Dayton Dragons, we have the opportunity to fill various positions staffing a concession stand. Duties include cooking, cashier, and specialty sandwich cart. We earn money for each person working a shift. Check your e-mails for upcoming games that are available. Contact person for Miamisburg is Lesa Hunter. Please email her at lhunter1964@hotmail.com to volunteer for a shift.
Spirit Wear
This is another great fundraiser and the items sell themselves. We just need your help to staff the booth. Please consider donating your time to help out with this fundraiser for the upcoming season. The more people that are willing to help, the less time each person will need to work. If you would like to volunteer please contact Lesa Hunter.
Cubs Bagging
High school guard members will be
bagging groceries for tips at Cub Foods on Springboro Pike again
for the 2008-2009 season. This is another great fundraiser
and and easy way for the students to earn money for the guard.
University of Dayton Concessions
This will be our second season working the UD Concession. Like the Dayton Dragons, we volunteer our services to staff a concession stand at Basketball games and various events at UD Arena. These events typically run from November through April.
Please wear Khaki pants (Navy or Black also acceptable), NO JEANS OR SHORTS. Also wear a shirt with a collar and comfortable shoes (NO OPEN TOED SHOES). Please bring a baseball hat to wear. Enter through gate D (this is the lot on the north side of Welcome Stadium). Volunteers must park in the Northwest corner of Lot D and enter through the blue double doors on the Northwest corner of the building. Security will check you in at this point. We will be volunteering in Stand #2 unless you are notified prior to the game of a change. If you are not able to work your scheduled shift, please try to find someone to replace you. We must supply our committed amount of 5 volunteers each game. Any questions please call Lesa Hunter at 291-2145 or 219-9353. Thanks for all your continued support with our fundraisers.
Mile of Quarters - World Record Attempt
With this event, we plan to get the entire community, i.e. businesses, schools, organizations and public officials, to assist us in an attempt to raise approximately 64,000 quarters. This would enough to fill over 1 mile. More details to follow.
Pizza, Popcorn and Cookie Dough Sale
The Pizza, Popcorn and Cookie Dough Sale will take place again this year. Watch for information this fall.
Kettering Medical Center Network Events
We will be assisting the Kettering Medical Center Network again this season with the Grandparents Day Ice Cream Social and Health Screening event. In addition, we will be serving concessions at three free movie night, "Movies and More," events being held at Kettering Hospital Sycamore as part of their 30th anniversary celebration. The guard will be serving inexpensive food provided by the hospital at no charge to the guard. The money made from selling the concession items at these Movies and More events will go directly to the guard. We have one event that already took place on Sunday, June 22, 2008. The next two events are scheduled for July 3, 2008 showing Over the Hedge, and August 31, 2008 showing National Treasure: Book of Secrets. Please contact Michelle Brown-Gordon to volunteer for this fundraiser.
