2008 Harley-Davidson Raffle
Harley Davidson Raffle - The Miamisburg Color Guard
has a winner for this years Harley Davidson raffle! Congratulations to Gary Raffel of Patriot, Indiana who holds the
winning ticket! The drawing took place at T. J. Chumps in
Miamisburg on Saturday, November 29th and Jack Pohl, Sports
Director and Anchor of WDTN Channel 2, was on hand to pull the
winning ticket. Thanks to everyone who supported this
fundraiser by purchasing a ticket, selling tickets, working one
of the many venues, hauling the bike and especially to those
that coordinate this fundraiser. It takes a great deal of
effort and involvement to make this fundraiser a success. You've all helped to make our sixth Harley-Davidson raffle one
on the most successful to date and to enable our guard staff and
guard members to continue our "tradition of
excellence." Thanks again!
Festival of Trees
The
Festival of Trees is right around the corner! And with
everyone's help, it should prove to be our best ever!
Pizza with Santa and the Holiday Auction will be held on
Saturday, December 6th at the Baum Opera House in downtown
Miamisburg. There will be crafts, pizza and pictures with
Santa for the kids starting at 11:00 AM followed by the Festival
of Trees Holiday Auction that evening. Please
plan to attend. But even more importantly, bring your
kids, mothers, sisters, brothers and friends! Make it a
girls night out with your co-workers! Last year truly
was a blast. Free food, free entertainment, cash bar,
and holiday fun. There will be live auctions, silent
auctions, and raffles - something for everyone. And
admission is free. Be prepared to bid on some of the
most beautiful Christmas items you will see. Among the
offerings are Longaberger baskets, Vera Bradley items, over a
dozen beautiful wreaths, and Christmas tress of all sizes from
table top to a magnificent 9 foot tree. The Miamisburg
Star City Jazz Band will be performing, Colin Christler will be
the D.J. and Doug Sorrell will be auctioning off the trees.
This event is very fun, very entertaining and a great way to
kick off the holiday season! Bring the kids for Pizza with
Santa, stick around downtown for the Christmas Parade and then
head back to the Baum Opera House for the auction! Hope to
see you all there!

delivery or working Pizza with Santa or the Christmas Auction, please contact Greg

University of Dayton Concessions
We
will
again be working the UD Concession stand at several events
throughout the season. This is a good fundraiser and is
easy money for our organization. Each World Guard family
is asked to work four shifts, but we would like parents of all
the guard members to help out as our fundraisers benefit all of
our groups. Please look over the schedule
and see where you can volunteer. Lesa Hunter is our stand
leader and will be at each event to advise you of the
responsibilities and oversee the stand. You will need to
wear khaki, black or navy blue pants (no shorts or
jeans), A short or long sleeved shirt (no
cap-sleeved shirts, tank tops or halter tops), close toed shoes,
and a hat. If you have one from last year you can wear
that. You may wear a UD hat, USA hat or plain hat. No other logo hats are to be warn.
If you do not have a
hat a disposable hat will be provided. There is no parking

Concession Roster
Mile of Quarters - World Record Attempt
With this event, we plan to get the
entire community, i.e. businesses, schools, organizations and
public officials, to assist us in an attempt to raise
approximately 64,000 quarters. This would enough to fill
over 1 mile. We currently are in need of volunteers to
approach a short list of local businesses and collect money from
collection jugs we will be placing at those locations. Please contact Greg
King if you can help with this fundraiser.
MEPA Competition & WGI World Championships
Congratulations
to all our groups for a fantastic weekend at the 2008 MEPA
State Championships! What a great ending to a
fabulous season for the Elementary and Juniors! And congratulations
to the World Guard for a fantastic 5th place finish at the
2008 WGI World Championship finals! What a great season
